Pegasus - Reflect and Reviewe
Dear Parents and Carers,
We have had a great first week of term in Pegasus class!
As writers, we have started reading our action and adventure text - Traction is Here: By Mini Grey. We have been making predictions about what will happen next in the text and drawing our own ideas of a secret mission.
As mathematicians, we have been learning how to add numbers up to and across tens using ten frames and number lines.
In Art, we have been exploring different types of architecture including continuous line drawing, ruler drawing and creating our own 3-D city scapes using pen or felt tip.
In History, we have been exploring the engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel, designing Clifton Suspension Bridge, SS Great Britain and Great Western Railway. We have looked at the biographies of different people including the life of Mr Frost!
On Friday, we had a visit from the athlete Fred who came in to talk about resilience, perseverance and motivation in sport and how it can help you in other aspects of life.
Next week:
Next week in English, we will be choosing a setting to describe from the book Traction Man which may include deep sea diving in the bathtub or lego / brick mountain climbing through a toy chest. We will draw these settings and then use adjectives and the 5 senses to describe the setting.
