Pegasus - Reflect and Review

Dear Parents and Carers,

We have had another great week in Pegasus class!

As writers, we have been using adjectives to explore the thoughts and feelings of different characters in Traction Man. We have also been looking at examples of diary entries, identifying the features.

As mathematicians, we have been learning how to find 10 more or less than any 2 digit number and adding and subtracting tens from 2 digit numbers.

In History, we have created our own diamond 9 to rank different events in Brunel’s life from most important to least important. We also learnt about SS Great Britain and used drama to act out the roles of different sailors on a boat. In Music, we have begun learning our Christmas song ‘Do you Hear what I hear’ for our Christmas service in December.

We had Outdoor Learning on Thursday which involved exploring signs of autumn and reacquainting ourselves with the outside area.

Next week:

Next week in English, we will be planning a diary entry based on the perspective of a toy that Traction Man is saving. They will be choosing their own character, using exclamatory sentences for effect and contractions.

Home-learning

Maths homework is due on Monday. We will mark our homework on that day. Spellings are also due on that day for those that have finished Read, Write, Inc. We will not be testing children on their spellings. It is just for children to practise their spellings at home.
