Pegasus - Reflect and Review

Dear Parents and Carers,

What an exciting week of learning across the curriculum!

We have been learning about Australian animals, linked to our topic. As writers, we have been creating descriptive sentences with interesting adjectives and verbs about koalas in preparation of writing an information text next week.

As mathematicians, we have continued our place value learning in maths, exploring how to partition numbers up to 100 into tens and ones, using dienes and part-whole models.

As scientists, we have been learning about the 5 animal groups: fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds, and mammals as well as animals that are invertebrates. We have enjoyed creating our own tree houses in art this week choosing our own design ready for our big creation next week.

Next week:

Next week in English, we will be gathering facts about Koalas to write our information text. In Maths, we will be continuing to partition tens and ones before we learn how to draw a number line up to 100 and count in 2s, 5s and 10s. In Science, we will be learning about the different habitats of animals in Australia and learning about the life cycles of animals from the 5 main groups.
