North Hinksey CE Primary School

Parkrun Primary

This week we had a visit from Harcourt Hill Junior Parkrun! The Run Director (Ben) from Harcourt Hill Junior Parkrun spoke to the school in Gathering about junior parkrun, the benefits in taking part and got
everyone involved in the fun warm-up (even the teachers). We also shared some feedback from our Junior Parkrun Ambassadors (children who already take part regularly!)

Junior parkrun is a free, community event where you can walk, jog, run, volunteer or spectate. Junior parkrun is 2k, dedicated to 4-14 year olds and their families and friends of all ages, every Sunday morning at 9am with a really fun warm up starting at 8:50am. Junior parkrun is positive, welcoming and inclusive, there is no time limit, and no one finishes last. Everyone is welcome to come along! We'll spend some time on Wednesday of next week all practising our running and seeing how far we can run!

Excitingly, we are encouraging all North Hinksey Primary School families to come along together to Harcourt Hill junior parkrun on November 2nd for a Halloween themed launch! It will be an amazing experience to walk, jog, run or volunteer with so many friends at junior parkrun.

We have challenged the school to see if we can have 50 North Hinksey School participants! All you need is a free barcode that you can scan using your phone, using the link here www.parkrun.org.uk/register/

It happens at Brookes Sports Field, Harcourt Hill Campus, Botley, Oxford OX2 9AT, starting at 9am, though arrive at 8:50 for a warm up. Wander round to the ‘Band Stand’! Look out for people wearing high-viz jackets –
they’ll direct you! And if you are interested in volunteering, please email the event team on harcourthilljuniors@parkrun.com

We hope to see as many of you as possible on our launch date (November 2nd ), but junior parkrun happens every Sunday so you can come any Sunday you are available. Mrs Claxton is often a
volunteer there and several of the Run Directors are parents in our school, so there is always a friendly face!

Can we get 50 children joining in? Will you be one of them? Looking forward to seeing you there! Sally Claxton
