Delphinus - Reflect and Review

Dear Parents and Carers

Children have settled well after the half term break and have given such a friendly welcome to our new TA, Molly who will split her time between Delphinus and Cygnus classes.  The morning routine has changed with the running order now being handwriting, maths, break, phonics then lunch.

We’ve started both our history topic on Florence Nightingale which will touch upon nursing then and now, as well as our science topic on Our Bodies.

In PE the children have had their first Fitness lesson (and observed changes to their bodies post-exercise).  In maths, children are learning to use part-part-whole models and writing number sentences for addition.  

Next week:

Please note a change to our PE days for this term. From next week PE will be on Mondays (Fitness) and Fridays (Gymnastics), rather than Tuesdays and Fridays. 

Children will have their first Outdoor Learning session on Thursday afternoon with the other dates being: 27th November and 11th December. If there are any parents or grandparents who have free time to support these sessions as volunteer helpers you would be warmly welcomed – please do let me know.

Thank you to all the children who put themselves forward for the School Council, and congratulations to Daisy and Hope who won most votes this time. They will be listening to the brilliant ideas of their classmates and representing them on the council. School Council Meetings happen every two weeks on a Friday. We know they’ll do a great job!

With less than 50 sleeps until Christmas (!), emails will be sent home next week telling you about our exciting plans for the Reception and Year One Nativity!

4th December - Dick Whittington Performance

9th December - Cygnus/Delphinus Nativity, 2pm (Information to follow)

11th December - Outdoor Learning Session, Afternoon, Please come in Forest School clothes.

12th December - HSA Christmas Bazaar, After school (details to follow)

15th December - Reading Passports to School

19th December - End of Term, 1pm
