Delphinus - Reflect and Review

Dear parents

Here is some news of what Delphinus children have been doing and what’s coming up.

Reflection:

This week children have continued with their daily phonics, handwriting and White Rose Maths including learning how to spell one, two, three, four etc as well as write the numerals. We have now also started our daily Maths Mastery sessions looking closely at 6 and 7. In English, in Drawing Club, our book has been The Huge Bag of Worries. In topic we have been focussed on Music, learning songs connected to the story of Little Red Riding Hood and in Art we have been creating an array of spirals, tiny and giant. Children have had their first Forest School afternoon, and in Gathering we are using the International Day of Peace as a hook to think about messages to write for children around the world who are less fortunate than us.  These will be attached to a magnificent kite to be displayed in school.

At home: please could you gently encourage children to have a go at writing as often as possible so they practise using their phonics knowledge.  Children are welcome to bring in any bits of writing (however scrappy) and it will be shared and celebrated!

Coming up next week:

Our Science Topic will be Everyday Materials.
