Columba and Aquila - Reflect and Review

Dear Parents,

It has been another week full of thoughtful learning and hard work across the curriculum.

This week, Year 6 completed their National Assessments. We are so proud of Aquila class for the maturity, resilience, and determination they showed throughout the week.

In English, Columba focused on direct and reported speech, continuing to draw inspiration from Macbeth by William Shakespeare.

As mathematicians, Columba began work on 3D shapes and continued adding and subtracting decimals.

In topic, we explored Elizabethan times, and in art both classes drew a portrait of Queen Elizabeth I.

In PSHE, we thought about actions that help conserve clean air and protect the atmosphere, linking this to our values of wisdom and gentleness.

HSA Spring Sprint Update

The distances are being counted each week, don’t forget to bring in your child’s form – Pegasus made it to Barrow in Furness and Aquila got to the Isle of Arran! In history, we will continue learning about Elizabethan times by researching Queen Elizabeth I and preparing presentations.

Maths Practice Journals are due on Monday, please see which week it is on the label in the front of the book - if your child hasn’t got one then please ask.

Columba Spelling Challenge: Children are encouraged to practise their spelling words and be ready to show their teacher—they can earn raffle tickets towards a big prize for their effort and progress.
