Botley Bikers Donations
Toilet Roll appeal
Insert your own tearable joke...the Botley Bikers loo roll appeal is back for another year!
Once again North HInksey Primary School and the Botley Bikers are teaming up (or TP-ing uo?) and all we want for Christmas is loo (roll). On Tuesday 9th December, we're asking all pupils to bring in a roll of toilet paper to donate to the Botley Bikers, who will distribute it to the homeless and vulnerably housed in Oxford. We know it's a busy time of year, but if everyone did remember to pack a roll, that would be over 200 to hand out.
The Botley Bikers are a team of volunteer cyclists who go out twice weekly and hand out food, toiletries, clothing and pretty much anything in between to those experiencing homelessness or living in vulnerable housing situations. We have started to see in excess of 40 people on each of our runs and everything we hand out is massively appreciated. Toilet roll is one of our most in demand items; apart from being used for the obvious it's a hankie, a hand-wiper, a wrapper upper of food, a wiper upper of spills and general muck from your possessions. No matter how much we take out, it all goes.
To recap:
What? One loo roll
When? Tuesday 9th December
Why? In aid of the Botley Bikers
We are exceptionally grateful for the support of the staff and families at North Hinksey Primary. We've lost count of the years that this campaign has been running, but we make it at least 5. Thar's a whole lot of toilet paper!
If anyone wants to find out more about what we do/where your donations go, either grab Rachael Monks (Amy M in year 4) in the playground or email botleybikers@gmail.com and we'll fill you in.
Go on, roll with it and make us flush with pride!
With thanks,
The Botley Bikers team
