After School Club
We’ve had some questions about all of that fun that goes on at after school club so we wanted to let you know what your children get up to from the end of the day.
Every afternoon, children leave class at 3:10 and head straight into the after school club building. They have full use of the after-school club area as well as the wider school site, giving them plenty of space to run, climb, play games, and enjoy time outdoors with their friends.
At 4:30, everyone gathers for a calm snack time, where they can refuel with a choice of sandwiches, fruit, vegetables, and a single choice of dessert. All of this food is prepared by the culinary legend that is Mrs Dallimore who provides all of the delicious meals at lunch time as well.
During this time, children sit together to watch something light while they eat—this helps keep the atmosphere relaxed and safe by reducing movement during mealtimes and therefore the risk of choking.
Afterward, around 5 o’clock, a fresh activity is set out each day—ranging from creative projects and games to themed challenges—so there’s always something new to look forward to. The afternoon is designed to give children a balance of active play, social time, nourishment, and engaging activities.
Next week in after school club those activities are;
Monday - Making fruit skewers.
Tuesday - Football & Marshmallow and Spaghetti Towers
Wednesday - Dancing & Lego Competition
Thursday - Slime making
Friday - Board games and free play!
